Paula (Pollock) Cracknell, age 79, of Lansdale, formerly of Oreland, on her own mother’s birthday, lost her battle with cancer on Friday July 12th, 2024. While the fight was brief, she was strong and feisty, throughout. We know she is now enjoying a peaceful and pain free reunion in heaven with her cherished loved ones.
Paula was the loving wife of and predeceased by Alan Cracknell. She was born in Abington, Pa and raised in Oreland. They celebrated 50 years of marriage prior to Alan’s death.
Paula was the youngest of 5 children to Frances (Morrow) and Samuel Pollock. Her surviving siblings are Samuel Pollock of Florida and Joyce Bottoms of Texas. She is predeceased by Raymond and Charles Pollock.
Paula spent most of her young life raising her daughters and later in life, assisting each of them by being a caring Grammy. She was a large part of her grandchildren’s young lives, allowing her girls to provide for their families. Additionally, she worked 10 years on nightshift at Lansdale Hospital cleaning the Emergency Room. She was fond of telling gory stories of her experiences and what she saw while working in the ER. She loved to see the reaction of others, which included a devious laugh from her.
Paula is survived by her daughters, Cheryl Schneider (Gerard), Elaine Cracknell and Megan Garner (James). She is preceded in death by her daughter Amy Strohecker (2001) (Michael). She has nine grandchildren, Gerard Schneider III (Meredith), Dylan Patterson (Alyssa), Timothy Schneider, Keelan Wallet (Michael), Connor Strohecker, Amylynn Garner, Timothy Garner, Jacob Garner and Devyn Garner. She has 5 great-grandchildren, Ryan, Lucas and Gavin Patterson, Myron and Harvey Wallet.
Paula was shy, a little vain and mostly reserved, but she did love all of her friends and family, even though she lost touch with them. For those close to her, she was the exact opposite, she was a force to be reckoned with (we know, you know). She will be dearly missed by all.
Relatives and friends are invited to Paula’s Memorial Celebration, which will take place on Sunday, August 25, 2024. An Open House will begin at 1 PM at the home of Cheryl and Jerry Schneider, located at 101 Garth Rd., Oreland, PA 19075.
Paula, we go back to 4th grade walking to West Oreland School together. We doubled dated at our prom. We got married, had our daughters together and, lived on the same street in Oreland. I feel blessed that we had time together on Thursday.
Rest, I won’t say goodbye, for we will continue our conversation, just in a different place.

So sorry to hear of Paula’s passing. We grew up together in Oreland and were friends since early childhood. We lost contact later in life, but would occasionally see each other in stores, and we would catch up with each other. I know she will be greatly missed by her family and friends. May your memories help heal your hearts.
Love,
Diane Dunyan Piantieri
