Brenda L. Flannery–7/27/2024

Brenda L. Flannery, 61, of Hatfield PA, passed away on Saturday, July 27, 2024. Brenda was born on July 19, 1963, in Colmar PA, to the late Hellen and Stephen Dinda.

She attended Lansdale Catholic High School and graduated with her bachelor’s degree from Gwynedd Mercy College. She was a parishioner of both St. Stanislaus and St. Maria Goretti church.

Brenda’s passion for crafting led her to manage Craftiques art store for 16 years, before she took time off to raise her three children and eventually start her own small crafting business “Creative Characters.”

Going back to work in 2004 as a paraprofessional with North Penn School District’s Special Education Department, her love for her students showed through mentorship, volunteer work with Best Buddies and Special Olympics, and never missing a North Penn graduation ceremony.

Brenda could often be found in her craft room, down the Jersey shore with her family and friends, or enjoying live music at local pubs and community parks. But what she treasured most was spending time with her friends.

She is survived by her husband, William Flannery; children, Brian Flannery, Molly Flannery, and Kate Flannery; and her sisters Barbara Delciotto (David Delciotto), Kathy Rocco (Anthony Rocco), and Nance Garner.

Relatives and Friends are invited to a Celebration of Life on September 21, 2024, from 4 pm to 8 pm, at Schwenckfeld Manor, 1292 Allentown Rd, Lansdale, PA 19446.  Please join Brenda’s family for a Picnic style gathering, with food, beer, wine and soft drinks.

In lieu of flowers, Brenda requested donations to be made to the North Penn School District Special Education Department. Donations for the NPSD Special Education Department are being accepted at this Venmo username: @NPSD-SpecialEducationDonations.

Also, checks can be made out to: NPSD Educational Foundation. Memo: Special Education purposes and sent to: PO Box 1084, Lansdale, PA 19446. In this way she continues to support students with special needs, leaving the world a little better than how she found it.

  1. You know when you can hear someone’s laugh? That was Brenda. You know when you can see someone’s smile? That was Brenda. And both laugh and smile had a slight naughty streak that made her so fun to be around. I met her as Hatfield Elementary’s Music Teacher teaching her tribe. Became a HUGE follower of her crafts. Cherish both. Sending her family heartfelt condolences. Will always remember BRENDA.

  2. I had the pleasure of working with Brenda at Pennfield. I looked forward to seeing her each day because I know we’d share at least one hardy laugh together! She was always kind and thoughtful to all the students she interacted with daily. She had a special way of defusing situations and bringing a sense of calm to the classroom. My prayers go out to her family and friends that loved her deeply during this difficult time.

  3. Brenda will be missed by all who knew her. She and I got to know each other the two years I was at North Penn high school, and no matter how bad she was feeling, if she had gotten more news, she was more worried about those around her. What a lovely lady, and I am glad I was given a chance to get to know her.
My sincerest sympathies to her family and others who knew her.

  4. I am devastated to hear rose news. Brenda was one of the teachers who assisted me with my IEP throughout high school and was always cheery and cracking jokes and a total delight to be around. She always made her room feel like a safe space whenever school was getting tough for me and I always cherished that. May she rest in peace and I’m sending all my condolences to her family and friends

  19. Brenda was a dear friend and I was beyond blessed to be able call her a friend. We had so much fun, and so many laughs whenever we would go out and I will treasure those memories forever! I would always joke with Brenda and tell her that she should run for mayor of Lansdale because it seemed whenever we went out, she would always run into someone she knew. It didn’t matter where we were or what we were doing, she would always know somebody! It was never just a casual acquaintance either, you could tell how happy they were to see Brenda. She had such an infectious personality, it was no wonder why she was loved by so many. She will forever leave a handprint on my heart!❤️
