Obituary for Patricia Ann Yasky
August 23, 1931 – September 1, 2024

Patricia Ann Yasky, 93, of Ft. Pierce, FL, passed away peacefully on September 1, 2024, with her children by her side. Born in Philadelphia, PA, on August 23, 1931, to the late Joseph and Hilda Leitz, she lived a full and vibrant life centered around family.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, Richard “Dick” Yasky; her brother, Joseph Leitz (Irene) and her cherished granddaughter, Lauren Michelle McDyre.

Pat is survived by her children, Patricia McDyre (Robert) of North Wales, PA, Richard Yasky Jr. (Rebecca) of Seaford, VA, and Michael Yasky of Ft. Pierce, FL. She was the proud grandmother of Robert McDyre (Caitlin) of Tampa, FL, Christine Prisco (Aaron) of Norristown, PA, and Michelle Katch (Michael) of Phoenixville, PA.  She is also survived by her brother William Leitz (Marcella) and nephews Joseph, William, and James Leitz and their families.

Pat was a devoted wife, mother, and Nana, known for her love of “the shore” where she met Dick. Her summers as a child were spent in Atlantic City, NJ, and later, as a snowbird in Ventnor, NJ and Fort Pierce, FL. She was happiest when her home and back porch were full of family and friends. She created countless memories with her children and grandchildren during their summer visits on the bay and during the ‘Around the Island Swim’ porch parties.

A true matriarch, she was proud of the family she created. Pat never missed an event that her children participated in: football, student council, waterpolo, crew, swimming and basketball from the early days through college. Later in life, her face lit up when she held and spent time with her great-grandchildren, Mikaela and Barrett McDyre, and Isla and Aubrey Prisco.

Pat was a member of the Red Hat Society, part of a social domino league, kept in touch with lifelong friends from Little Flower Catholic School and had a deep love for golden retrievers, treating her beloved dogs as part of the family. Saturdays were spent watching college football games and Sundays were spent at church, and then cheering on her beloved Philadelphia Eagles.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, October 11, 2024. Visitation will take place from 9:30 AM to 10:15 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, 51 Lansdale Ave, Lansdale, PA 19446. The inurnment of ashes for immediate family will occur the following day, October 12, 2024, at Our Lady of Grace Cemetery in Langhorne, PA.

Pat loved to follow along with her granddaughter, Michelle’s Child Abuse Prevention work through Mission Kids Child Advocacy Center, therefore in lieu of flowers, donations in Pat’s memory may be made to Mission Kids: www.missionkidscac.org/donate
