Jaromyr Karaman passed away peacefully on Friday, October 4, 2024, after many years of declining health at the age of 81. Jaromyr was born in Lviv, Ukraine, and came to the US through Ellis Island in 1949. He lived in Philadelphia, Pa., with his parents and two younger brothers, then got married, built a home and raised a family of his own in Lansdale, Pa.
He was a graduate of Bishop Neumann High School and Penn State University, which prepared him for his long-standing career as an Electrical Engineer at Honeywell.
An avid, longtime Philadelphia Eagles and Penn State Nittany Lions fan who had a passion for fishing and boating.
Family was a very important part of his life. He honored family traditions during the holidays and enjoyed family vacations at Moosehead Lake, Maine, the Outer Banks in North Carolina and the coast of New Jersey.
Jaromyr is survived by his wife Marta; his daughter Christina, son-in-law Vince, and daughter Lidia; his brother Gene, wife Mary and their daughter Joanna, husband Jochanan, son Michael; his sister-in-law Halyna, her daughter Natalka, husband Erik and daughter Sofia. Preceded by his brother Dionisij, mother Lubomyra and father Michael.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Jaromyr’s Funeral Mass on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at 10:00 AM at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, 51 Lansdale Ave., Lansdale, PA., 19446, where the family will receive friends beginning at 9:00 AM, in Church prior to Mass.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, UNICEF or a Ukrainian Organization of your choosing.
I knew Jim for many years as a patient and a friend. He was smart, funny, and always a gentleman. Lots of family stories especially about yearly vacations at Moosehead Lake. Marta and family are in my thoughts and prayers.
