Maryellen “Maryel” B. Desmond–12/23/2024

Maryellen “Maryel” B. Desmond, age 72, died Monday, December 23, 2024, at her Lansdale, Pa. home. 

Born September 11, 1952, in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of Herbert Thomas White and Catherine Rose Aster. 

She was the middle daughter with older sister Linda Stanley and younger sister Sandra Shaw (predeceased). 

Maryel attended St. Leo’s Catholic Elementary School and Lincoln Senior High School in Philadelphia. She obtained her GED and completed a variety of college courses as well as becoming a licensed Cosmetologist.

She married Robert Desmond, MD, in Lower Merion, Montgomery County, Pa., on May 18, 1990.

Her interests including needle work, painting, rehabbing her 1713 home, and her family.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by family members, her sister Linda Stanley, and children Robert “Skip” James DeRosier and wife, Dian; Dawn Kristen Kloss, “DeRosier” and husband, Kevin; Brad Richard DeRosier, and Danielle Shawn Zesdorn, “DeRosier,” and husband Vincent. She is also survived by grandchildren Corin Sanders and husband Matthew, Clarenza DeRosier, and Aubrey and Lilyana Materese; and great grandchildren Gavin, Maverick, and Silas Sanders and baby Willow Sanders, and her godson Matthew Shaw.

Maryel was Roman Catholic and her patron Saint was St. Dymphna.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, 51 Lansdale Ave., Lansdale, PA 19446, where her viewing will take place from 9:00 AM to 10:20 AM, in Church, prior to Mass.

Interment will be in Doylestown Cemetery, in Doylestown, Pa.
