Linda A. Moffatt–12/28/2024

Linda A. Moffatt, 85 Years old and a residence of St Mary’s Manor in Lansdale, Pennsylvania passed away on December 28, 2024 at St Mary’s Manor.

Linda A. Moffatt (nee Hunt) was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on May 25, 1939 to her parents, Walter Merrill Hunt and Elizabeth Hunt (nee McLaughlin). Linda has one Brother, Walter (Bud) Hunt of Columbia, Maryland.

Linda graduated High School and spent her career as a Telephone Operator and Office Receptionist for various companies in the City of Philadelphia. Her longest tenure was with Vincent G. Kling and Associates for over thirty years. Other companies included Atkin Kinet and Towers Perrin both in the City of Philadelphia.

Linda married Thomas Moffatt of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on October 17, 1959, at Holy Innocents Catholic Church in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. At the time of Linda’s passing she and Tom where married 65 years. Linda and Tom were inseparable.

Linda and Tom spent their entire lives in the City of Philadelphia in the sections of Kensington and Juniata Park. They briefly lived in Mayfair for a few years when they were first married. The last nine years they have resided at St Mary’s Manor in Lansdale, Pennsylvania.

Linda is a lifelong Catholic and was a parishoner of Holy Innocents Catholic Church Parish in Philadelphia and of Saints Nereus and Achilleus Catholic Church which serves as the Chapel for St Mary’s Manor. Linda practiced her Catholic faith by attending the Sacraments and living out the Catholic social teaching of loving your neighbor. She also helped to convert her Father to the faith later in his life.

Linda’s happiest moments were with family, family events, picnics, dinners and family vacations to the South New Jersey Shore including Wildwood and Ocean City. She also enjoyed holiday family gatherings and being with friends.

Linda and Tom enjoyed dancing, live music and swimming in the ocean and time on the beach. Linda and Tom participated in the Juniata Park Boys Club social events, helped organize many events and ran socials for the Juniata Park Boys Club as well as for the Holy Innocents Catholic Church Parish. They also ran many individual social events for fundraising, Halloween and family vacations and events.

Linda enjoyed having parties for Tom’s milestone Birthdays, the Mummers, Cruise Trips and the Philly Phanatic.

Linda is survived by her husband, Thomas Moffatt of Philadelphia, her Son, Thomas J. Moffatt and Barbara F. Moffatt (nee Feeney), her Daughter, Elizabeth Lorenzo and David M. Lorenzo. She is also survived by five grandchildren, David M. Lorenzo Jr., Anastasia E. Moffatt, Rachel L. Moffatt, Audrey R. Moffatt and Emma D. Moffatt and one great-grandson, David M. Lorenzo III, her younger brother, Walter (Bud) Hunt, and Margaret Hunt (nee DeVito) along with her nephews, Paul, Peter, and Dan Hunt and a sister-in-law, Nancy Moffatt of Naples, Florida, and her daughter Melissa Moffatt of Boulder, Colorado.

Linda is predeceased by her parents, Walter Merrill Hunt and Elizabeth M. Hunt (nee McLaughlin) as well as her in-laws, James W. Moffatt and Elizabeth Moffatt (nee Shields) and brother-in-law James Moffatt and her Niece Denise Moffatt.

Linda’s Catholic Mass will be held at Saint Stanislaus Catholic Church, 51 Lansdale Avenue, Lansdale, PA 19446 at 10:30 am, Friday, January 3, 2025. Reverend Father Jonathan Rice will celebrate. Visitation is prior to Mass at 9:00 am to 10:20 am.

Interment is at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Cemetery, 1215 Super Highway, Langhorne, PA 19047.
