Fred “Fritz” L. Schmidt , age 90, of Telford, Pa., died February 15, 2025.

Born on June 14, 1934, in Quakertown, Pa., he was the son of the late Russell and Mary (nee Strawsnyder) Schmidt.

Fred was a graduate of Lansdale High School, class of 1952.

Always a hard worker Fred became a professional Truck Driver and worked most of his career for McKinney Drilling Company.



He married Margaret “Peggy” C. Waldspurger on June 29, 1968. They made homes in both Lansdale and Telford, Pa.

Fred served his country honorably with the United States Army.

He enjoyed sports, especially football, baseball and bowling.

Fred was very proud to be an member of the Fairmount Fire Company which he had joined in 1953. He also enjoyed horseback riding and refereeing children’s sports.

Surviving are his beloved wife Peggy, his sister Carol, and 17 nieces and nephews.

He is preceded by all of his other siblings.

Relatives and friends are invited to his Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at 10:30 AM at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, 51 Lansdale Ave, Lansdale, Pa 19446, where there will be a Viewing from 9:30 to 10:15 AM, in Church, prior to Mass.

Interment in St. Stanislaus Church Cemetery.
