Verna Pino Ceneviva

April 1, 1931 – March 25, 2025

All who knew Verna loved her. Her radiant smile could light up a room, and her warmth and kindness shone through in everything she did.

Verna Pino Ceneviva, 93, of Lansdale, PA, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family and close friends. She was born to Matteo and Catherine Pino, founders of the renowned Lansdale Italian Bakery.

Verna attended Notre Dame High School in Wyncote, PA, and later earned a Paralegal Degree from Penn State University.

In 1949, Verna met the love of her life, Joseph Francis Ceneviva, at a mutual friend’s wedding in Glenside, PA. While Joe was in the Air Force, Verna faithfully wrote to him, and in September 1955, they were married. Together, they built a beautiful life, wintering in Naples, FL, and traveling to Europe to visit family and explore the world. They would have celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary this year.

Verna is survived by her husband and her beloved daughters, Marie Walsh (Donald), Karen Jancay (Paul), and Dina Hanzok (Sean). She was a proud grandmother to Donald Walsh III (Andrea), Joseph Walsh (Alice), Jeffrey Ball (Hannah), Gregory Ball (Riley), Andrew Ball (Becca), and Carly Ball. She also cherished her seven great-grandchildren: Benjamin, Ryan and Aiden Walsh, Abigail, Micaela, Harper and her namesake, Delaney Verna Ball. She is also survived by many extended family members and close friends, especially Barbara and John Walko who lovingly cared for her always. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Nicholas Pino, and her grandson, Matthew Joseph Walsh.

Verna’s friendships were treasured and numerous. She found great joy in hosting gatherings, shopping trips, dining out, playing mahjong, and attending fashion shows. She had a deep passion for cooking, baking, sewing, and lively conversation. Her family and friends will forever remember the warmth of her home, always filled with love, laughter, and the comforting aromas of her delicious Italian cooking.

Dedicated to her career, Verna worked as a legal secretary and paralegal for nearly 50 years at Landis & Williams in Lansdale, PA and in Blue Bell, PA: Lesser & Kaplan and Kaplan, Stewart, Meloff, Reiter & Stein.

A woman of faith, Verna was a devoted member of St. Stanislaus Parish in Lansdale, PA. and a founding member of Mary, Mother of the Redeemer Parish in North Wales, PA.

Visitation will be from 10AM until 10:50AM on Tuesday, April 1, 2025 at Mary, Mother of the Redeemer Church, 1325 Upper State Road, North Wales, PA 19454. Verna’s Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11AM. Interment at St. John Neumann Cemetery, Chalfont, PA.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Verna’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer or Matthew Walsh Teen Center at the Mary Mother of the Redeemer Church.
