Anthony (Alfie) Mastromatto, age 92, of Ambler and Lansdale, passed away peacefully on Friday July 25, 2025.
Born in Ambler on May 1, 1933, he was the son of the late Tommaso and Margherita (nee Camassa) Mastromatteo.
He is predeceased by his beloved wife Marie and his nine siblings, Carl, Leonard, Michael, Thomas, John, George, Albert, Joseph, and Eleanora (Romendio).
Alfie attended Ambler High School, class of 1952, where he was a standout football all-star. He was a U.S. army veteran and served with CO. “B” 4th Combat Engineer 4th Infantry Division during the Korean Conflict. He was a life member of V.F.W. Post 7919.
Alfie married Marie (nee Maiorano) on September 3, 1953, at St. Stanislaus in Lansdale, Pa. They were married for over 53 years before her death in 2007.
Alfie and Marie are survived by their two children Anthony Jr (Tony), his wife Tina (nee Daddario), and Joseph (Joe), his wife Bonnie (nee Deluca), as well as their grandchildren, Tia and her husband Brandon (Hause), Nicholas and his wife Jessica (nee Thomas), Shannon and Edwin Grau, and their great-grandchildren, Lana and Kaia Hause, and Nicholas Jr and Grace Mastromatto.
After serving his country in the Army, Alfie worked at Keasbey and Mattison and CertainTeed, before finding employment with the St. Stans parish and school in the maintenance department. There he was affectionately known as “Mr. Alfie” by all who knew him. As Mr. Alfie, he took pride in the impact he had on the community and he loved mentoring high school students during the summer months.
Throughout his life, Alfie enjoyed fishing, hunting, taking walks around the neighborhood, watching the Phillies, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday August 2, 2025 at 11:00 am at St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church, 51 Lansdale Ave., Lansdale, PA 19446, where his family will receive friends at his viewing from 9:00 AM to 10:50 AM, in Church prior to Mass. Interment will follow Mass at St. Stanislaus Cemetery. A luncheon will be held for family and friends immediately following the services.
Alfie has requested that memorial contributions be made to the charity of one’s choice.

My husband and myself had the privilege of living next to Alfie and
Marie since 1993. They were both wonderful neighbors and will be
missed by all who knew them both. R.I.P.

Just sharing a memory, you guys were a little younger, but your cousin Tom (Greenwood ave) use to stop by his Uncle Alfie / Aunt Marie’s house whenever he was in the area. Even if it was just a quick stop to say hello. He enjoyed stopping by their house.
