Mildred Marilyn Love–1/23/2026

Mildred Marilyn Love
April 7, 1931 – January 23, 2026

Mildred “Millie” Love, 94, of Lansdale, PA passed away peacefully on January 23, 2026 at Elm Terrace Gardens.

Millie was born on April 7, 1931, to the late John, Sr. and Pauline Benedict in Fishbach, PA, the firstborn of three siblings. She graduated from Nativity BVM High School in Pottsville, PA, then met her true love, the late Donald Love, Sr., at a St. Clair, PA dance, where they first danced the swing to her long-time favorite tune, Glen Miller’s “In the Mood.”

They married in 1954 and moved to Lansdale, PA together in 1957 to raise their six children. After years as a homemaker, she had a long career at the local newspaper, “The Lansdale Reporter.”

In 2000, she relocated to “the farmhouse” in North Wales, PA, where she’d watch birds gather at the pond and welcome visitors from her favorite spot, in the sunroom. She was an avid reader of both novels and newspapers. Some of her favorite hobbies included plastic cross stitch & yarn crafting, and enjoying “Old World” cuisine, such as pierogies, city chicken, halupki and potato pancakes.

She deeply loved her role as matriarch to her large family; all of her many descendants were the apples of her eye. She took pleasure in the company of family, loved listening to every mundane story as well as celebrating big milestones. Her favorite days were holiday gatherings or summer cookouts, where she’d quietly sit back, bask in the laughter, and gently smile at the rowdiness of her gathered brood.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is pre-deceased by her beloved son, Kevin Love, siblings John “Jack” Benedict, Jr. and Barbara Savini, and children-in-law, Richard Heckman and Christine Love.

She is survived by five of her children: Louise Kyle (Michael, Sr.) of Boyertown, PA; Donald Love, Jr. of Lansdale, PA; Susan DiLanzo (Louis) of Lansdale, PA; Laura Heckman of North Wales, PA; and Brian Love, Sr. (Meghan) of Collegeville, PA; daughter-in-law, MaryJoan Love of Lansdale, PA, fifteen (15) grandchildren, eight (8) great-grandchildren and two (2) great, great-grandchildren, as well as her brother-in-law, Frank Savini, and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

She will be remembered for her deep love and loyalty, her spirited sense of humor, the ease of her company, many greeting cards showered upon loved ones for any and every occasion, and her signature mac ‘n’ cheese dinner.

She is deeply missed, fondly remembered, and her large legacy of love lives on in the hearts of her family.

A Public Viewing will be held at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, 51 Lansdale Ave, Lansdale, PA 19446 on Friday, January 30, 2026 from 9:30-10:25 AM, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 am. Immediately following, there will be a funeral procession to St. John Neumann Cemetery, 3797 County Line Rd., Chalfont, PA 18914, where a burial service will occur, and Millie will be laid to rest alongside her late husband.
