It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Cheryl Ann (McClarren) Curry, age 54, who passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Thursday, February 2, 2023. Cheri was born April 24, 1968 in Philadelphia, PA, the second of four children. Cheri was the daughter of Francis K. McClarren and Nora (Gallagher) McClarren.
Cheri is survived by her parents, her loving husband of 26 years, Edward J. Curry III, her beloved daughters Megan Curry and Madison Curry, two sisters, Michelle McClarren and Susan McClarren, one brother, Kirk (Jennifer) McClarren, and many nieces and nephews.
Cheri lived in Lansdale for over 26 years. She grew up in Bensalem, PA and was a graduate of Bishop Conwell High School. Cheri cherished her high school years and had many life-long friends from those happy years. One of her fondest memories from high school was her role as a “regular” dancer on the tv show “Dancin On Air.” Her beautiful smile, energy, and love of life made her a natural performer on TV. After high school, Cheri graduated from Holy Family College with a degree in nursing. For the rest of her life, Cheri dedicated herself to the care and comfort of others. She worked tirelessly throughout her work life at Einstein, Grandview, and Doylestown hospitals, ending her service working in the cath lab at Doylestown Hospital surrounded by friends and colleagues whom she admired until her death.
In 1990, Cheri met the love of her life, Eddie. Cheri and Eddie were together for 33 years until her passing. Their 33 years were filled with countless joy, laughter, and love. Through their love, Cheri experienced the greatest joy of her life, becoming a mother. Megan and Madison will shortly be 21 years old and the last 21 years of Cheri’s life was dedicated to her girls in all ways possible. Cheri was also an active member of the Bucks/Mont Mothers of Multiples organization where she helped other moms of multiples manage the demands of work, home, and children. As the girls got older, Cheri threw more of her energy into supporting her girls while they played soccer. Cheri had countless happy days watching her girls play and spending time at the Vereinigung Erzgebirge (VE) Club in Warminster, PA. Throughout the last two decades of her life, Cheri enjoyed organizing vacations and day trips with her immediate family so her girls could spend time enjoying their cousins. There were numerous extended family vacations to Ocean City Maryland, the cabin in the mountains, day trips to amusement parks, and countless other fun times at lavender farms, tea rooms, and Christmas light shows. Her family will cherish these memories together for the rest of their lives.
As we come together this week to celebrate Cheri’s life, it is fitting that the Philadelphia Eagles will shortly play in the Super Bowl. Cheri was one of the team’s greatest fans! She enjoyed Sundays at the Linc tailgating with her countless number of friends on the Curry Eagles bus and could be heard by all singing the Eagles fight song at so many games over the last twenty years. Her family knows she will be singing that song in heaven on February 12th.
In the last 18 months of her life, Cheri bravely fought cancer and was determined to spend those months fighting for more time. She found tremendous comfort praying to the Catholic Saint, Padre Pio, for help throughout her illness. For her loved ones left behind, they are eternally grateful for all the care, prayers, and love that her countless friends provided to ease her pain and brighten her last days.
Friends and family are invited to attend a viewing held at Mary Mother of the Redeemer Catholic Church, 1325 Upper State Road, North Wales, PA 19454 on Thursday, February 9, 2023 from 9:30 – 11:30 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow at 11:30 AM. Interment in St. John Newman Cemetery, Chalfont, PA.
You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Cheri’s name to the Asplundh Cancer Pavilion, Jefferson Health (Home of Sidney Kimmel Medical College).
