Francis X. Burnell, 97, of Lansdale, formerly of Lafayette Hill, PA passed away on October 30, 2022. 

Fran was born on December 6, 1924 in Philadelphia, PA where he grew up, and attended Roman Catholic High School (Class of 1943). After graduation, Fran enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served in the Seabees during World War II. 

Following the war he attended technical art school while working at Keystone Brass & Rubber. In 1948 Fran married Dorothy E. Kazunas and enjoyed a loving marriage until her passing in 2006. Fran spent his career as a technical illustrator and art director at Philco and General Electric in King of Prussia, PA. 

Fran had an interest in photography, woodworking, aircraft and ships and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. 

Fran was a kind, loving and supportive father of 4 daughters, Jeanne (Joseph) Weber, Marilyn (Ronald) Fonock, Diane T. Burnell and Patricia (Richard) Rapposelli. He was grandfather to Brittanie (Scott) Kruegel and Matthew (Amy) Rapposelli and great-grandfather to Hannah and Leah Kruegel. He was predeceased by his brother George F. Burnell, O.S.A.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at 10:30 A.M. at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 900 Sumneytown Pike, Lansdale, PA where the family will receive visitors from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M. Interment will be private at a later date.
