It is with great sadness, that I announce the passing of my beautiful mother, Maria Magdolna Hatonek. She passed away peacefully, on, August 19, 2021 at 10:06 AM. She was surrounded by the loving arms of her husband, daughter and son, and her best friend, Lara.
Born in Budapest, Hungary, on October 6, 1940, she was the daughter of Pattke Geza and Pizinger (Terezia) Geza. She was married to her beloved husband, Michael Hatonek, for 57 years.
She and her family emigrated to the United States in the 1970s with nothing but the clothes on their backs. Through hard work and determination, they made a comfortable life for their family.
Maria formerly worked at Jet Plastica and many day care centers. She loved taking care of babies. She also loved music, dancing, and going to the mall.
She was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Lansdale.
Surviving are her husband, Michael; son, Attila, and his wife Sandy, and daughter, Monica Hatonek, and her fiancé, Rich; three granddaughters, Mary, Christina and Andrea; her sister Teca Garamvolgyi, and best friend, Lara.
Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate life at her Funeral Mass at 10:30 am, Thursday, August 26, 2021, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, 51 Lansdale Ave, Lansdale, where there will be a Viewing starting at 9:30 AM in Church prior to Mass.
Interment St. John Neumann in Chalfont, Pa.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association.
