Joseph “Joe” Larson, loving husband and devoted father, passed on Sunday, May 23, 2021, at the age of 59.
Joe was born in North Penn Hospital on April 29, 1962, to Arthur J. Larson and Alice (Campbell) Larson. He was a student of the North Penn School District graduating in 1980. He married his high school sweetheart Deborah (Spofford) in 1985 and lived in Hatfield, Schwenksville, and Erie, all in Pennsylvania, before settling in their hometown of Lansdale. They were blessed with two children, Gabrielle, 28, and Michael, 27.
Joe is survived by his wife and children as well as his brother, Arthur, and sister, Patricia, 10 nieces and nephews, a great niece and great nephew.
Joe loved learning and earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Electrical Engineering from Drexel University. He went on to complete two Masters degrees from Penn State; an MBA, and a Masters in Software Programming. He was also set to graduate from another Masters Program at Drexel University in June.
Joe earned a Master Black Belt in General Electric’s Six Sigma Program and several certificates in programming from Stanford and Johns Hopkins Universities. Joe spent the last few years working in the banking industry, having also spent time in working in health care, technology and communication industries, and in manufacturing.
Joe was a traveler, a home improvement handyman, and coached for both Lansdale Little League Baseball and Lansdale Cannoneer Football. He was a proud “Cheer Dad.” He enjoyed riding motorcycles, ATVs, jet skis, and snowmobiles. He was fond of family time, parties with friends, relaxing in his pool, and cheering for the Eagles. He volunteered with Habitat for Humanity, U.S. First, and planted trees as part of an Earth Day Initiative.
Joe’s life will be celebrated on Thursday, June 3, 2021, at St. Stanislaus, 51 Lansdale Ave., Lansdale, Pa, 19446. Family Visitation will be from 9 am to 10:45 am with Mass following immediately.
