Russell A. Kaelin, 88, died October 23, 2020, in Lansdale Abington Hospital with his stepson David Lamb by his side.
He was born May 25, 1932, in Plumsteadville, Pa., to Lewis Kaelin and Ida Stockert. He had three siblings, Charlie Kaelin, Butch Kaelin, and June Moyer. He was first married to Estella Ethel Garner. He married his second wife, Linda Lamb, in November, 1984.
Russ Lived in Lansdale most of his life. He graduated from North Penn High School, where he was on the track team and enjoyed playing baseball.
He was employed by Fenstermacher Roofing for 52 years. The last thing he did on completion of each job was to leave a shiny new penny of that year under the slate or shingles.
Russ enjoyed watching all sports, especially midget racing. He and his brother Butch Kaelin traveled many miles to attend and participate in midget racing. He made the wings of not only Butch’s race cars but many others as well.
He was an extremely talented metal craftsman. In his later years, he created his own bird houses out of metal. He attended craft shows and sold his beautiful one of a kind houses in his brother Butch’s store in Skippack, Pa.
He and his wife Linda enjoyed traveling to Tennessee and North Carolina. He also enjoyed spending time with his large loving family.
He is survived by his wife Linda, his daughters, Karen Siciliano, Cindy Kaelin, Sandy Rich (Walt); his stepchildren, Mike Lamb, Deb Shoen (Bob), Becky Santangelo (Tony), David Lamb (Nancy), Tim Lamb, as well as 21 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, sister-in-law Beth Kaelin and many nieces and nephews. All are dear to his heart.
He was predeceased by his parents Lewis Kaelin and Ida Stockert, his brother Charlie, his sister June, and his brother Butch.
Relatives and friends are invited to Russell’s service at 10:30 am, Wednesday, October 28, 2020, at St. Stanislaus Church, 51 Lansdale Ave., Lansdale, Pa. The family will be present at the church at 9:30 am for socially distanced visitation as the family desires to protect all from Covid. Gravesite will be family only. All attendees are asked to follow Covid guidelines and practice mask-wearing and social-distancing both inside the church and at the gravesite. There will be no receiving line due to Covid and the desire to keep all safe. Thank you for understanding concerns for the safety of all.
