James R. Mease (also known as Heathen 2 and Chad from the Mainline), 78, of Colmar, PA passed away peacefully on February 18, 2024 after a short illness.
Jim was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Dorothy Mease (nee Magnin).
Jim was born in 1945 in Philadelphia, PA to Walter Mease and Zita Mease (nee Holloran). He graduated from North Penn High School in 1963, and immediately enlisted in the US Army, serving honorably in the Vietnam War.
Jim was a bus driver for Septa for 38 years and loved the passengers and friends he made in that time. After retiring from Septa, Jim worked part time at Manheim Auto Auction in Hatfield, PA.
Jim was a proud member of Hatfield American Legion Post 933 where he served as a Home Association board member and bugler. “The Club” was a very special place for Jim where he made many friends over the years who became a second family.
He was a great story and joke teller and had a laugh one could not forget. He enjoyed taking day trips with his wife, Dot, as well as traveling with his daughter, Liz, son-in-law Bill, and friend Preston in the last years of his life, where great times were had in Europe, Florida, and traveling to see the Phillies and visit American Legions in Colorado and St. Louis, MO.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Hatfield American Legion Post 933, 2100 Koffel Road, Hatfield, PA 19440 on Sunday March 3, 2024 from 2 – 6 PM
