Judi A. Mandronico, 55, of Harleysville, Pa., passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, February 27, 2021, after a 3-year battle with cancer.
Judi was born July 30, 1965 in Rome, NY and was the daughter of Alex and Rosalie Catalano Mandronico. She is survived by her father Alex, sisters Toni (Raymond) Stuetz, Shari (Keith) Whitby, niece Cecilia Stuetz and nephew Matthew Stuetz. She also is survived by a brother Bill (Jen) Haddad, their children Becky, Bill, Cameron, David, Samantha, Andrew and their 5 grandchildren. Judi survived by an aunt Charlotte Hughes, uncles Dominick (Colleen) Catalano, Anthony (Joan) Dizuzzo, Goddaughter Emily Chatburn and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her beloved mother Rosalie, grandparents and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Judi loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. The family took many car trips including a memorable cross-country trip that she enjoyed reminiscing about. She was a proud big sister always encouraging Toni and Shari while finding ways to remind them she was the older and wiser sister. She likes to take credit for introducing Ray and Toni and at first told Keith to run from Shari but later was excited to welcome him to the family. She loved Cecilia and Matthew with all her heart and was a proud aunt attending as many of their activities as possible. She was excited to meet her brother Bill and enjoyed getting to know him the last few months of her life.
She was a graduate of Lansdale Catholic class of 1983 and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Temple University in 1990. She loved the food and restaurant business, getting her start while in high school working alongside of her family at Rodi’s in Chalfont. Despite her father encouraging her to pick an easier career, she loved the hospitality industry, and spent her professional career as an assistant manager at Cedarbrook Country Club then as the club manager at Doylestown County Club. She was active in the club managers association and enjoyed their events and the many friendships she made. She also was the prepared food manager at Shop Rite of Hatfield before getting sick.
Judi has a wonderful group of friends from every stage of her life and was blessed to be surrounded by them throughout. She had many 40+ year friends that rallied around her in good times as well as through her illness. She was grateful for Dorothy, Cindy, Debbie, Dawn, Marie and Helen for all their love and support. Judi had a special relationship with her longtime love, Joe Dimon and shared an immeasurable bond with Donna Kinsey and Dave Tirpak whom she loved to cruise with at every opportunity. She claimed the four of them shared a brain. She loved to take cruises and enjoyed many with friends, family and even her grandmother. Another passion of Judi’s was gambling. She enjoyed going to Atlantic City and Las Vegas, as well as Lake Tahoe and Reno when visiting with her grandparents. Each year she looked forward to the annual Kentucky Derby Party we held at the Parx Casino racetrack, so she could bet on the horses she would choose by name. She was an avid reader and had a zest for knowledge. She looked forward to watching Jeopardy and participating in weekly trivia, most recently Quarantine trivia over Zoom. She always had a feisty side and loved to dance, especially in her younger years, where her longtime friends would start at the Ground Round on Thursday nights and end up at the Fifth Street Pub in Lansdale.
Judi loved her three cats and was heartbroken when she could no longer take care of them. She was grateful when a cousin agreed to adopt them and sent her photos periodically.
Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate her life during a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday March 13, 2021, at 10 am, at Corpus Christi Church, 900 Sumneytown Pike, Lansdale, PA 194460, where the family will receive friends in church starting at 8:30 AM. Judi was a frequent blood donor, organized many blood drives and actively encouraged people to donate blood. She asks that people donate in her name or make contributions to the American Red Cross in her memory.
