
Louis W. Dunn (“Louie”), 82, of Hatfield, Pa., died suddenly at home, on February 19, 2021.
He married Charlotte (Harbon) Dunn on April 1, 1962. They were married 50 years.
He was born January 24, 1939, in Montgomery Township to Charles and Dorothy Dunn. He had two sisters, Dottie and Linda, and two brothers, Ronald “Sonnie” and Paul.
He proudly served in the Navy from 1956-1960 on the CV-62 Carrier. After the Navy he studied at Phila University on Spring Garden. After receiving his degree, he worked as a Tool and Die Engineer at Lanoco Precision, where he retired.
Among his many hobbies, baseball was probably his favorite. I truly believe he knew every score to every game of every year of every team of every stat of every player on every team. He coached CYO baseball in Lansdale, Pa., from 1964-1976, during those years of coaching his team accomplished State Championship winners.
In later life, you would find my father following the Philadelphia Phillies to Florida to spring training. This was his and his wife’s second home during the the long Pennsylvania winters.
He is survived by his son William, daughter Audrey, grandchildren Laura and Edward and great grandchildren Michael and Ava.
Services are being held at Simcox-McIlvaine Funeral Home, 532 East Main Street, Lansdale PA 19446 on Saturday February 27, 2021 at 12 noon.
