Dorothy Monte—7/4/2020

Dorothy “Dot” W. (nee. Walsh) Monte, age 91, of The Birches at Arbour Square in Harleysville, passed away peacefully, Saturday morning, July 4, 2020. 

Born October 17, 1928 in Glenside, she was the daughter of the late Edward P. and Mabel (nee. Simmons) Walsh. She graduated from Notre Dame High School for Girls in Wyncote.  On January 6, 1951 she married the late Alfred J. Monte. Mrs. Monte worked at St. Mary Manor, in Lansdale, for 24 years where she was the manager of the Business Office, and also handled accounting and administration work. She retired on April 5, 2002.  

Mrs. Monte was an avid golfer and enjoyed gardening, knitting, and traveling to Spain with friends.  

Her greatest love was spending time with her family and she was a fantastic mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

She was close to the Little Sisters of the Poor and was a great supporter of Catholic Charities. 

Surviving are her two loving son’s Alfred (Yolanda) Monte and Christopher (Christine) Monte, her grandchildren, Lauren D. (Justin) Trudell, Jason A. (Hanna) Monte, Natalie C. Monte and Rachel N. Monte, her great grandchildren Gabriella and Greyson Trudell and Camilla Monte as well as one sister Eileen Saylor. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded by her brothers, Bernard and Edward Walsh and Cecelia Stoerrle.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Mass on Saturday, July 11, 2020 at 10:30 AM at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, 51 Lansdale Ave, Lansdale, where the family will receive friends after 9:30 prior to Mass. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
