Joseph V Alletag Jr (Joey, Joe, P-Pop, Poppa A) of Cape May NJ passed away Feb 26 2015. He was born in Long Island NY, grew up in the West Oak Lane section of Philadelphia PA, and moved to Lansdale Area where he lived for 41 years. He was the son of the late Joseph V Alletag Sr. and Joan Alletag.
He was a 1974 graduate of North Penn HS where he was captain of the Ice Hockey Team. Joe worked at GE as a switchgear technician for 36 years specializing in electrical breakers for oil refineries and nuclear power plants
Joe was a loving father to three sons Joey III, Tony, his wife Erin, and Jamie, his wife Jenna. Joe is also survived by mother Joan Alletag, sister Dee D’ Agostino, wife of Philip, brother Gink and grandchildren Anthony Jr, Austin, Penny, Cora, & Leah. Joe was preceded in death by his father Joseph V. Alletag Sr.
Joe will be remembered as a person who would do anything for his family and especially his three sons. He was a dedicated Little League Baseball and Ice Hockey coach while the boys were growing up. Driving across the Delaware Valley with an SUV full of hockey players and equipment was the regular weekend activity for many years.
Joe enjoyed his free time hunting and fishing. Most recently, he could be found on his Cape May boat dock telling fish tales, teaching and taking any visitors for boat rides and fishing trips.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass at St. Stanislaus Church, 51 Lansdale Avenue, Lansdale PA. 19446 on Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at 10:30 AM. The family will receive friends from 9 to 10:30 AM Wednesday morning before Mass. Interment Private.
