Christopher Augustine

Christopher Augustine
(1984-2025)

Chris was born August 18, 1984 to Robert and Susan (Homick) Augustine, and grew up in Willow Grove, PA with them and his sister Valerie. He was popular and a bit of a troublemaker, being brought home by the police on at least one occasion. He was an athlete at both Archbishop Wood High School and at Holy Family University, where he studied Computer Management and Information Systems. Though he excelled at swimming and often raced in smiley-faced and rainbow-dolphin speedos, his passion was soccer. He played goalie, and was so committed to each game that he got himself a titanium elbow after diving for a ball. He was the Director of Network and Security at Radnor Township School District, but as much as he liked his job, he loved his family.

He and Linda (Horn) shared a 16-year marriage and three beautiful children together—Samantha Rose, Julianna Grace, and Luke William. Chris’ three children were the loves of his life and his favorite people. There was never a moment that he was with them that he wasn’t at his happiest.

Chris will always be remembered for his calm demeanor and his quiet perseverance, with the special hobby of waiting for fish to show up on a camera in the Netherlands, just to let them through a gate. He’ll be remembered for his strong friendships, including friends he has had since grade school and new friends and relationships that he nurtured and loved. It’s hard for all of us to think we won’t hear him laugh again, and he will be missed greatly by all who knew him. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.

Chris was preceded in death by three grandparents—Nicholas Homick, Cecelia (Lubinsky) Homick, and Alfred Augustine, and his family takes solace in the belief that he is with them now.

A Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2025, from 8:30 AM to 11:15 AM at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 900 Sumneytown Pike, Lansdale, followed by Chris’s Mass of Chrisitan Burial at 11:30 AM. The family will be holding a private burial at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, a GoFundMe has been set up by friends to help cover funeral costs and provide for the Augustine children. The family also asks that this spring you let a fish through a door in Chris’ memory.

  1. My daughter Annie and I had the pleasure of coaching the Corpus swim team with Chris for 4 years. We had some fun times on the pool deck for sure. But especially loved watching Chris with his girls. It was so sweet. I always admired his encouragement and support of all the kids. We will miss you Chris. Rest in Peace.

  2. Great guy! Got to know him from DCIU meetings, occasional conferences and other school meetings. So sad you were called home so soon. I’ll pray for you and your family! May you rest in peace!

    • Chris was an amazing friend and mentor to me as I started my career in tech. He taught me so much! I will miss our regular catch-ups at Minella’s. I’m sending my love and support to his family and friends.
