Joan A. Messner—7/13/2025

Joan A. Messner, age 91, of Lansdale died peacefully on Sunday, July 13, 2025, at Dock Terrace. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald E. Messner, in 2024. They were high school sweethearts and married for over 71 wonderful years at the time of his passing.

Born on May 25, 1934, in Lykens, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late John and Alberta (Umholtz) Hoffman.

She was a 1952 graduate of the former Lykens High School and took courses at Montgomery County Community College. Joan retired while working at the orthodontics practice of Dr. Leon Strohecker in Lansdale, Pa. 

She was the devoted mother of son Kimber (Joy) and daughter Suzette. She was a loving Maw to 4 grandchildren Shane (Kelsey), Reid (Jenna), Kitara (Jonathan), Tanis and 4 great-grandchildren.

Joan loved to travel and enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, flower gardening, shopping, and listening to music especially to Frank Sinatra. She treasured spending time with her family and friends.

She was a long-time member of the Trinity Lutheran Church.

We will miss her dearly.

    My heartfelt condolences on the loss of your beloved mother. I hadn’t realized from dad’s obituary that they shared an incredible 71 years of marriage together.
