William C. Cherry, age 76, of Hatfield passed away on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at his home.
He was the loving husband of 49 years of Barbara (nee Fiedler) Cherry.
Born on September 30, 1949, and raised in the Roxborough section of Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Francis Xavier and Hazel (nee Nast) Cherry.
William attended St. John the Baptist Catholic Grade School, in Manayunk, and graduated from Roman Catholic High School in Center City.
He had a long career working as a Painter, mostly in the Home Remodeling industry.
In his down time he enjoyed fishing.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his two sisters Helen Wolf and her husband John and Margaret Cherry, sister-in-law Barbara Cherry (wife of the late Robert) as well as many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded by his loving son William C. Cherry, Jr, and brothers Robert and Francis and sister Alice Bell.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at 10:30 AM at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, 51 Lansdale Ave, Lansdale, PA 19446, where there will be a receiving time from 9:30 to 10:20 AM, in Church, prior to Mass.
Burial will be at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in William’s name can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Bill bomb Cherry was my best friend for 74 years.We grew up across the street from each other on Wendover st. in phila. We did a million things together over the years. we fished and camped also built forts together on the empty lot by our home we worked together at factories and painted together for Bills business most of all we played cards together a lot especially at the mountain house all the guys from the neighborhood built together.We were as close as brothers and i will miss Bill cherry and i’ll be thinking of him and talking about him and remembering all the great times we had together for the rest of my life Love You Billy Bomb
