Theresa A. Gurecki–2/7/2026

Theresa A. Gurecki died on February 7, 2026, right where she always said she wanted to—at home with her family by her side.

Born in Ozone Park, NY as the fourth of the five daughters of George P. and Alice Martin, she is leaving behind her husband Ed, their daughter Mandi, their son-in-law Alex, and more friends than can be counted.

Theresa was also known to go by Terri, TC, George & Alice’s daughter, Ms. Martin, Mrs. Gurecki, Mandi’s mom, and just plain “mom” at various points throughout her life. She truly lived a life in service to others during her varied career: a pre-K teacher in a NYC Catholic school, manager of a group home for folks with physical and intellectual disabilities in Bethlehem, PA, homeschooling mom to her daughter, chef for the priests at St. Stan’s in Lansdale, PA, and volunteer for the various 4-H clubs in Montgomery County that her daughter joined.

She battled lung and brain cancer for the past 8 years, but no matter how tough treatment was, she always found a reason to crack a joke. Her favorite saying was that “Laughter is the best medicine.” Her sense of humor and her Catholic Faith is what got her through three brain surgeries, countless rounds of radiation and infusion treatments, and a broken ankle on top of everything else.

She had a strong devotion to Saint Mother Teresa, and loved watching Mother Angelica’s TV show, Mother Angelica Live, on EWTN, as well as praying the rosary daily. Before physical newspapers stopping being a thing, she also had a strong devotion to reading the obituaries daily to make sure she wasn’t one of them!

A viewing for Theresa will be held on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, from 9 to 10:20 am at St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church, 51 Lansdale Ave, in Lansdale, PA. A Funeral Mass will follow the viewing 10:30 AM. Burial will be at Doylestown Cemetery immediately following the Mass.

In lieu of flowers, please offer prayers for the repose of the Souls in Purgatory. If you want to do something physical in honor of mom, please considering donating to EWTN or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
