Lani Bartman–5/14/2026

Lani Bartman, 66, passed away peacefully at home, on May 14, 2026, surrounded by love, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

He is survived by his wife, Christine Yanalavage. They shared a beautiful life for the past 18 years, including 12 years of marriage built on love, partnership, laughter, and unwavering support.

Lani is also survived by his daughters, Miranda Fields and her husband James, Shannon Garver and her husband Rick, and Jessica Bailey and her husband Greg; and his cherished grandchildren, Madeline Casalena, Julian Fields, Finn Garver, Reid Garver, and Annabel Bailey.

He was born in Pottstown on April 10, 1960. Lani was incredibly intelligent, quick-witted, and effortlessly funny.  He had the presence of a gentle giant. Tall, quiet, and sometimes carrying a serious expression that could fool people at first glance, but underneath was an incredibly kind and gentle soul. There’s a saying that dogs and children are the best judges of character, and both were always naturally drawn to him, just as he was to them.

His career spanned many occupations, but even his favorite, Database Architect did not fully define him. Rather, his love of music, emerging artists, and support of music education was his passion. As a Philadelphia area native, there was no question of his loyalty to Philadelphia sports, especially the Eagles – Go Birds! He enjoyed fishing, especially when it was with his grandchildren. He also loved cars and tinkering with them. And books filled much of his free time. But most of all, he loved spending time with his family. As he found joy in things he experienced, he always wanted to share that joy, quietly, with the people he loved most.

Rest in peace, Lani. The Dude abides!

Final arrangements are private.
