Susan Brady
August 02, 1953 – June 04, 2026
It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of Susan Anne (Diehl) Brady of Perkasie, after a sudden illness.
Predeceased by her parents, William and Margaret (Bergin) Diehl, Susan was the seventh of their nine children, growing up in Lansdale and graduating from Lansdale Catholic High School in 1971. Throughout her life, Susan was known for her fun spirit, kind heart, endless love and devotion to her children, and for being a safe place to all who knew her. To know her was to love her. To know her was to feel greatly loved by her in return.
Susan had a long career at Standard Press Steel in Jenkintown, followed by roles within the Pennridge School District beginning as a reading tutor at Sellersville Elementary where her children attended. Susan was a lunchroom assistant at Pennridge South Middle School where she was a friendly face to the students. She retired from nearly 20 years as a Pennridge school bus driver. Navigating the most rural areas of the district, Susan safely delivered home countless children, often in weather conditions that would daunt the most intrepid drivers. In this vital role she had a lasting impact through her fun, charismatic and caring demeanor toward her passengers at every grade level.
Susan enjoyed swimming, collecting albums, listening to music, reading, making wreaths and bows, tackling the toughest jigsaw puzzles, watching Jeopardy, decorating for the holidays, going to the beach, shopping at antique stores, and found great joy in spending time with her siblings, friends (especially the LC’ers), and her children and grandchildren. No one baked a better apple pie or batches of Christmas cookies. Though her excellent cooking fed many, it was her ability to connect that was her hallmark. She will be remembered for her easygoing personality, her unwavering dedication to and support for her loved ones, and the endless love she gave to her children and grandchildren. She was resilient, pragmatic, resourceful, kind, fun-loving, and accepting, a true confidant who offered sound advice with the best sense of humor. She was one of a kind.
Susan is survived by her children, Lauren Bongiovano (Anthony) of Spring Grove, PA and Sean Brady (fiance Natalia Pinkney) of Berlin, Germany. As well as her grandchildren, Abigail and Vincent Bongiovano. Susan was preceded in death by her son, James Francis Brady III. Jimmy’s young death was a defining moment in Susan’s life and she persevered with a strength that defied definition, witness to her ability to live life to its fullest, despite setbacks.
She is preceded in death by her siblings Anne Diehl and Kathleen Fluss and survived by her siblings and their spouses, Margaret Diehl, Regina and Richard Cubbage, Robert Fluss, William and Dagmar Diehl, Patricia Diehl, Mary Jo and David Hughes, Mary-Beth and Dominic DePaolo. As well as her many nieces and nephews, Kate Fluss Ashley (Dave), Paul Fluss (Kristen), Eileen Cubbage, Andrea Cubbage Nelson (Don), John Diehl (Kelly), Elizabeth Diehl Swords (Jeremy), Jessica Diehl, Joseph DePaolo (Monica), Anna-Kate DePaolo (Libby), Allison Hughes, Kevin Hughes and was preceded in death by her nephew, Daniel Hughes.
A Receiving time will be held on Friday, June 12, 2026, from 9:00 am to 10:45 AM, at St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church, 51 Lansdale Ave, Lansdale PA. Mass will follow at 11:00 AM. Burial at St. John Neumann Cemetery, 3797 County Line Rd, Chalfont PA.
