Joanne Marie (née Curry) Finkelston–6/9/2026

Joanne Marie (née Curry) Finkelston passed away peacefully at the age of 60, surrounded by family on the 9th of June, 2026 in Quakertown, PA. She was born in New York City, New York on the 7th of February, 1966 to Edward A. Curry Jr. and JoAnn (née Gianatasio) Curry. She was the youngest of three children and enjoyed her youth in her long-term family home in Lansdale, PA.

She attended St. Stanislaus elementary school, followed by Lansdale Catholic High School where she met her high school sweetheart and future husband Michael Finkelston. She then attended Cabrini College, earned her Bachelor’s of Science in Biology, and most importantly, met some of her lifelong friends.

She married the love of her life Michael Finkelston at St. Stanislaus Church in Lansdale, PA on the 28th of September, 1991. The two honeymooned in Bermuda, especially enjoying the beach, a favorite place of Joanne’s. She was employed by the County of Bucks as an Environmental Protection Specialist in the Department of Health for over 36 years, using her passions for science and infectious disease to help her community. She particularly enjoyed her lasting friendships with many longtime co-workers in and outside of the office.

Joanne’s family life, which was closest to her heart, began with her first born, Andrew Michael, then her second Eric Matthew, and her youngest Kristina Marie. Her pride and joy was her grandson, Carter Joseph. She was supportive of all her children’s endeavors academically and leisurely. She often volunteered for school and sporting events, and was always willing to go out of her way to help. Joanne was a devout Catholic and a longtime parishioner of St. Isidore Catholic Church in Quakertown, PA. Her generosity was shown through donations to charitable organizations.

She planned many summer family vacations to the beach, as well as to Disney World, Universal Studios, and various other amusement parks. She loved spending as much time as she could with family and friends at Lake Hauto and Ocean City, NJ, two of her favorite places. She loved attending concerts, including some of her favorite artists like Tom Petty and Train, traveling the world, family gatherings and her many trips to the casinos. Her bubbly and outgoing personality and her love of life made it easy for her to make friends and make everyone she met feel important.

Joanne is survived by her loving and devoted husband Michael Finkelston of Trumbauersville; her three children, Andrew (Shauna) Finkelston of Ambler, Eric Finkelston (fiancée Audrey Ellison) of East Norriton, and Kristina Finkelston of King of Prussia; her grandson Carter Finkelston; and her sister Julie (Raymond) Cios of Myrtle Beach, SC. She is also survived by many wonderful aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Joanne was predeceased by her loving parents Edward A. Curry, Jr. and JoAnn Curry, her brother Edward A. Curry, III, and her brother-in-law Paul B. McGee who she joyfully is reunited with.
