Madeline Marie McFadden, 99 passed away peacefully at St Luke’s Grandview Hospital on June 24, 2026 in the presence of her son.
Madeline was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Madeline was born on September 15, 1926 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to John and Caroline Schwartz (Grossman). She married her husband Edwin McFadden February 26th, 1949. They lived in the Port Richmond section of Philadelphia until buying a home in Willow Grove, Pennsylvania in 1956. After the death of her husband in 1977 she later relocated to Gilbertsville Pennsylvania. In 2017 she moved to Dock Woods Community in a private apartment.
She graduated from Little Flower High School and began working as an administrative assistant for a trucking company. Several years after the move to Willow Grove she worked for Moore Products in Spring House Pennsylvania as a Production Supervisor on the manufacturing floor. She was a member of St. Maria Goretti Parish in Hatfield. She enjoyed gardening and working on her lawn as a dedicated “Dandelion Puller”. Her love of coffee at any time of the day was renowned. She also enjoyed travelling with her companion David Engle.
She is survived by her brother, Robert Schwartz, son, Edwin J McFadden Jr. (Arlene), granddaughters Laura Gress, Katherine Stansbury (George), grandson Edwin J McFadden III (Jillian) and 6 great grandchildren Emmit, Molly, Charlotte, Owen, Addison and James.
She is predeceased by her Spouse, Edwin J McFadden and brothers William Schwartz and John Schwartz.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, June 30, 2026 at 11:00 AM at St. Maria Goretti Church, 1601 Derstine Rd. Hatfield, PA 19440. Visitation will be prior to Mass from 10:00 AM to 10:50 AM.
Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
