Donald Desmond—2/28/2025

Donald Desmond, age 81, of Hatfield, Pa., died February 28, 2025.

Born on February 27, 1944 he was the son of the late Anna (nee. Dougherty) and Edward Desmond. Donald grew up in the Roxborough neighborhood of Philadelphia and was a Roman Catholic High School graduate.

He married his wife, Rosemary (nee. Chiaravallotti) Desmond on June 5, 1982, at St. Mary Magdalen de Pazzi in Philadelphia. 

Mr. Desmond was a Philadelphia Police Officer for 25 years and upon retirement worked security for several Atlantic City casinos and hotels.

Don was a standout basketball player for Roman Catholic High School and was a four for four Philadelphia sports fan who was thrilled to be able to witness his beloved Eagles win the Super Bowl this year. 

In addition to his wife, Rosemary, he is survived by his children, Donna Muszynski (Steve), Michael Desmond, and Ted Desmond (Denise); his grandchildren, John Ciccotta, Tyler Muszynski, Matthew Desmond, and a granddaughter on the way. He is also survived by sister-in-laws, Madeline (Anthony deceased) Savino and Phyllis Banks and four nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Don’s Funeral Mass on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at 10:30 AM at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, 1601 Derstine Rd., Hatfield, PA 19440, where his family will receive friends from 9:00 AM to 10:15 AM, in Church, prior to Mass.

Inurnment will be in St. John Neumann Cemetery in Chalfont.
