  1. Dear Geraldine and Family of Salvatore, Sr.,

This is a message from the Alumni Relations Office at Saint Joseph’s University. We regret that we are unable to offer condolences in person at this time of the death of our graduate, Salvatore J. Castorina, Sr., who received his Bachelor’s degree in 1966.
Salvatore’s name will be added to a list that is kept in a Memorial Book in our University Chapel. The list includes the names of deceased friends of the University and all deceased alums and their near relatives. The names are held there for a year and these deceased are remembered in all the Masses celebrated in the Chapel.

  2. I have great memories of times spent with Sam and Gerry in Aruba. My husband and I always looked forward to meeting up with these good and easy-going folks on our vacations to the Caribbean. I was always awestruck by the very warm and caring relationship I witnessed between Sam and Gerry. May Sam rest in beautiful peace, and may Gerry be comforted by the love she and Sam shared – that will never end.

  3. Sam was one of the very special I met at Merck. He was a friend , coach and mentor from day one. Graciously shared his wisdom, experience and networks. A man who treasured his family , stories, and Old neighborhood. Along the way he traveled the world. Shared a smile everywhere he went… lucky us. Redeye

  4. Sam was one of those unexpected impact folks … special who are gifts from God. He became my workplace coach, guide and much more. Sharing his wisdom, experience, insight ….im blessed and thankful to have had the opportunity😍

  5. Sam and his beloved wife were my neighbors for the last 16 years. They were the Crown Jewel of our neighborhood. Sam was a wonderful person. He loved life but he loved his wife even more. He was kind and generous and very smart! He was a great conversationalist and easy to talk to on any subject. He had a deep spirituality and love of God as evidenced by his faithfulness to the Catholic faith. My family and I have been enriched by his friendship. I know he is with the Angels and saints. He will be sorely missed. Rest in peace my friend. Pray for us!
