Elizabeth Hornberger—11/22/2025

Elizabeth “Betsy” Hornberger, age 76, a 50-year resident of Lansdale, passed away on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at Elm Terrace Gardens.

She was preceded by her loving husband Barry, of 53 years, in July of 2025.

Born in Philadelphia on May 19, 1949, she was the daughter of the late William and Kathleen (nee Burns) Black.

She grew up in Ambler, where she attended St. Anthony Catholic Elementary School.  

Betsy then went on to Archbishop Kennedy High School, graduating with the class of 1967.

While there she played the French Horn in the Orchestra, was a member of the School Newspaper and The World Affairs Club.

After graduating she attended Gwynedd Mercy College and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education.

She spent most of her teaching career at St. Stanislaus Catholic Elementary School and Ken-Crest Child Development Center.

Betsy joined St. Stanislaus Parish in 1972 so she could sing with the Choir and later the Funeral Choir.

She was a very active member and served as a Eucharistic Minister in the 1990s and was a member of Pastoral Council from 2002-2005.

Surviving are two loving children, Beth Hornberger and David Hornberger (Erin), brother, Paul Black (Noelle) and sister, Kathy Black as well as grandchildren Cassidy and Garrett Hornberger.

In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded by her brothers, Bill and Jack Black.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at 10:30 AM at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, 51 Lansdale Ave., Lansdale, PA 19446, where her family will greet friends from 9:30 to 10:20 AM, in Church, prior to Mass.  

Inurnment in the St. Stanislaus Columbarium.
