Raymond Peacock–5/16/2020

Raymond (Ray) A. Peacock, 88, of Elm Terrace Gardens, Lansdale, Pa., died May 16, 2020. He had previously resided in Hatfield, Pa.

He was born September 15, 1931, to the late Joseph A. and Anna M. (Magee) Peacock. He was predeceased by a brother, Joseph Peacock, and a sister, Nancy (Peacock) Haines.

Ray was married to Alice M. (Doyle) Peacock on August 31, 1958.

He is survived by daughters Patricia M. Benson (James, deceased) and Annmarie Dykes (Brian) and sons Raymond J. (Carol) and Paul J.; grandchildren Terry Knappenberger, Tina Dunning, Robert Benson, Stephen Benson, Rhianna (Benson) Long, Scott Benson, Samantha Bossert and great grandchildren) Ashley Knappenberger, Erica Knappenberger, Gabrielle Forbes, Justin Knappenberger, Skylar Dunning, Kendall Long, James Long and a great-great grandchild Mason Gildner.

He served in the US Army during the Korean War, in the Infantry, in Communications and as an Operating Room Nurse.

Ray is known for his quick wit and humor. Always ready with a joke, he enjoyed making people smile.

He enjoyed family vacations and coached Little League Baseball in Hatfield Township during the 1960s.

He was a member of St Marie Goretti Parish since 1960 and of AOH. He was an Honorary Life Member (48 years) of Knights of Columbus Council #4396, Lansdale, Pa., served as Grand Knight, Activity Director, Home Association Steward, and many other positions. As a community outreach for the Knights of Columbus, he especially enjoyed presenting a Rose and Rosary to the parents of newly baptized children at St. Marie Goretti Parish as a celebration of Life.

He was dedicated to reciting the Rosary daily. He attended mass daily as long as he was physically able.

Due to current Pennsylvania gathering restrictions, a private ceremony will be held May 22, 2020, at 11 am at St. Marie Goretti, Interment at St. John Neumann Cemetery, 3797 County Line Road, Chalfont, Pa., 18914.
